Executive Leadership

Mitchell N. Schear
Mitchell N. Schear is the President of Vornado/Charles E. Smith. He directs the performance and growth of Vornado’s extensive portfolio in the Washington DC region.
Prior to joining Vornado in April 2003, Mr. Schear spent 15 years at The Kaempfer Company, where, as President, he oversaw all of the company’s development, leasing, and management activities. 
Mr. Schear has served on a number of boards on behalf of the real estate industry and community, including: The Washington Convention Center Authority, the Economic Club of Washington, the Downtown DC Business Improvement District, the Field School, and the Lowell School.  In 2007, Mr. Schear was recognized by the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) with its highest honor, the Achievement Award, for his contribution to the Washington DC real estate community.
Mr. Schear has a B.A. from Hobart College, and earned his MBA at the George Washington University.
